Texvalley, a trailblazing B2B hub for the textile industry, located at a sprawling 20 lakh sq.ft area in Erode, Tamil Nadu, is all set to metamorphose into South India’s first ‘destination mall’ of its kind, So we can planning for Trade Fair and exhibitions in the form of existing platform also housing both B2B as well as B2C business across segments, besides food, entertainment, and other lifestyle outlets.
Addressing the media at Texvalley, an integrated textile trading market centre at Chithode located along the Salem-Kochi National Highway, he said the project themed “New Avatar” would house both B2B as well as B2C business across segments, besides food, entertainment and other lifestyle outlets. “The hub is spread across 20 lakh sqft and will house a hypermarket, five-screen multiplex, 500-seater food court and a family entertainment centre,” he said and added that the number of brands in the mall would go up from the present 500 to 1,500 in two years.
Texvalley’s new avatar will generate over 2,000 new direct jobs and about 15,000 in-direct jobs in the region. The footfall to increase from about 60,000 visitors a month to over 5,00,000 in the next two years. The number of brands present in the mall will go up from 500 to 1500 during the same period we planning for Trade Fair and exhibitions.
At present, the textile market has 500 odd brands, representing textile and allied industries, and generating an annual turnover of about Rs 750 crore. The mall in its new avatar will house 1,500 domestic and global brands and target a turnover of Rs 5,000 crore by 2024.So we can planning for Trade Fair and exhibitions in the form of existing platform.

It started with Mr. C. Rajsekaran giving the welcome address and brief overlook on the purpose of Texvalley and wants to take textile products from erode to the world and goes on to mention that Texvalley is the first government subsidized market project.
He was followed by C. Devarajan who went on talk about the journey of Texvalley. Established in 2009 as government-private partnership, it was setup to help manufacturers and traders have a global platform for their products and how Texvalley had gone on to become a trading platform and a marketplace. This was all said while stuttering through analogies.
The third and most important speaker Mr. Sushil S Dungarwal, Chief mall mechanic at Beyond Squarefeet introduced himself and the undertaking New Avatar to the expectant crowd.

All the transformation works would be completed in four months, he added. He goes on to say how changes have taken place over time and the newest change will be a big one in many aspects.
An important aspect of New Avatar is that it isn’t a new chapter but a new mindset and vision of Texvalley and then he went to show a clip from Lion King (Simba’s birth) hoping people would connect the dots between the two.
New Avatar is an undertaking to transform Texvalley to make it into a destination mall in addition to its existing platform thats why planning for Trade Fair and exhibitions.
First of its kind in India, New Avatar is an ambitious project done at a massive scale. It’ll have it all from cinemas to big box bazaars and possibly an indoor zipline. When it is completed, it would be B2B, B2C, entertainment center and a mall.
