According to M.R.K. Panneerselvam, Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, at the opening ceremony, 1,997 additional villages would be joined to the Kalaignar All Villages Integrated Agricultural Development Program this year, and all 12,525 villages in the state will be integrated by 2026.
Senthil Balaji applauded CODISSIA’s efforts in organising the fair and stated that this year, more than two lakh farmers will profit from it, up from the initial 25,000 farmers in 2000. He added that the government has opened three agriculture colleges in less than a year and given one lakh farmers free electrical connections.
He added that the Agri Intex show in 2022 attracted 150 firms. The expo acts as a bridge between farmers and business, with more than 500 enterprises taking part this year. It enables farmers to keep current with the newest technologies, he continued.
Later, speaking to farmers at the expo, Panneerselvam said that thanks to the state government’s attention on agriculture by designating a distinct budget for it, farmers are earning the respect of all spheres of society, including authorities. He thinks the state government’s plan to give farmers 50,000 extra free electricity connections will assist increase farming production by increasing cultivation.
The three-day show was organised by Codissia following a two-year delay brought on by the epidemic. A total of 570 booths from more than 500 businesses in the nation and a few outside have been set up. Participants included M.
